Notes
for MARY ANDERSON:
Mary Anderson was the daughter of James Anderson and his wife,
Mary Jordan, who of a daughter of George Jordan and granddaughter
of Arthur Jordan, brother of Col. George Jordan, Atty. General of
Virginia in 1670.
Notes from Patrick Anderson say that Mary died bef. 1779 in
Sussex Co. VA.
Mary would have been born on her father's Surry Co. plantation
called "Arnols." apparently there was little contact
with her brothers later in Amelia as no oral tradition or
correspondence regarding Mary's family passed on to the later
generations. He says there is disagreement in some instance with
the work of Eva Turner Clark, Examination of the original will be
the only was to resolve any errors, this may refer to the
birthdate of James, who I have born in March and baptized in
April 29.

his life in that section of Surry which, in 1754, was cut off to

Anderson and his wife, Mary Jordan, who was a daughter of George
Jordan and granddaughter of Arthur Jordan, brother of Colonel
George Jordan, Attorney General of Virginia, 1670. Edward Eppes
