3. GOLDSBURG "GOLDSBURRY"³ BLADES (BENJAMIN², GREENSBURY¹) was born December 28, 1785, and died October 30, 1848. He married (1) ANN TAYLOR. He married (2) ZIPPOROUGH BOWDEN January 08, 1830. She was born August 30, 1810, and died October 24, 1890.

Excerpts from history of DeKalb County, TN

DeKalb had 1274 stills - 1st put up about 1801 by Jesse Allen. One of the best customers was Goldsbury Blades. Around Jul 17 1841, 6 Gal. whiskey sold for $3, same date, 3 gals. in the evening of the election was $1.50

On the last page of the family bible is the following hand written entry, which is believed to be by Goldsbury Blade sometime in 1836:

"Left Maryland Worcester County the 1st day of April 1836 and came to Tennessee in the town of Liberty on the 5th day of June 1836."
