On 28 Nov 1836, Deed Bk. E, p. 96, Rebecca's husband is seeking a claim on her grandfathers and her brother's estates. "James Anderson of White Co, TN, was married in said county to Rebecca Hill, who was the legitimate daughter of William Hill and wife Lucinda, formerly
Chisum, daughter of the late James Chisum of Hardeman Co. Lucinda Hill is now dead. The wife of Anderson is entitled to distributive share of estate of James Chisum, and likewise to certain portion of estate of James S. Chisum, lately deceased, being the son of James Chisum, both died intestate." Anderson gave power of Atty. to William Hill, for wife Rebecca Anderson of White Co., TN.

18. THOMAS GIBBONS⁸ CHISUM (ELIZABETH⁷ GIBBONS, ANN⁶ EPPES, MARY⁵ ANDERSON, MARY⁴ JORDAN, GEORGE³, ARTHUR², ARTHUR¹) was born March 20, 1806 in TN, Claiborne Co., USA, and died February 27, 1855. He married MALINDA CHISUM November 14, 1829. She was born February 19, 1814, and died 1848.

Notes for THOMAS GIBBONS CHISUM:
Thomas was married to his cousin Malinda Chisum. Moved to Rusk Co T X.

In Hardeman Co., TN, 24 Dec. 1835, Thomas sold to Claiborne Chisum
interest in slaves in right of wife Malinda Chisum, who is one of the
heirs of John Chisum, decd., belonging to estate, to-wit: Doctor, James
William, Randal and wife Sally and their children, Absalom, Alfred,
Patsy, Randal, Hiram, Berry, Polly and Dorinda. Witnesses were Wm. H.
Chisum and John Bick( Hardeman Co., E, 265.
Evidently Thomas G. Chisum, son of James, married his cousin Malinda ,
dau. of John Chisum.

On 15 Apr 1836, Thomas sold his part of land of James Chisum, dec. , on
Clover Creek, to his brother-in-law Andrew Turner. Deed Bk. E. , p. 24.

Thomas lived in Hardeman and Madison Co., TN and is found in 1850 Rusk
Co., TX census with above named children. This section of Rusk Co .
later became part of Gregg Co., TX

The following appeared in the newspaper, "Real County American," 22 May,
1986, Leakey, TX and was compiled by Nancy Dennis Chisum, Sue Chisum,
Hallie Chisum and Annie Chisum.

"According to census records and family tradition the following
information is derived: Thomas Gibbons Chisum and wife, Malinda Chisum
came to Texas sometime between 1834 and 1835. When the family left
Tennessee, the only children born to Thomas G. and Malinda were Parilee
and Talbert (Tolbot on census). The family first arrived in Lamar Co.
where they are found to have bought land there. Records show he bought
1280 acres in Lamar and Fannin districts.
Evidently when Thomas and Malinda made their trek to the frontier of
Texas
there were other family members and relatives that came with them.
Claiborne
(brother of Thomas G.) and his wife Lucinda Armstrong Chisum also came to
Lamar Co., TX. They were cousins and were the parents of Cow John, John
Simpson Chisum. I don't know when Thomas and Malinda moved from Lamar
Co. to Rusk, except that it was between 1837 and 1850. They lived in
Northern Rusk Co. Thomas was a farmer. After coming to Texas, Thomas
and Malinda had William and Andrew and a daughter named Sis on Census,
but her name may have been Laura. Other children were Paxhun, Adaline
and John. Thomas G. Died in
Rusk (now Gregg Co.) on 27 Feb 1855, Malinda died about 1880.

inherited from John Chisum..probable son of Elijah and Lacy who m . Mary

I have also seen her name as Belinda.
