She was born January 03, 1842 in Fayetteville, MS, Franklin Co., USA, and died April 13, 1930 in Mangum, OK, Greer Co., USA.

AMES M. GIBBONS:
James was born near Hillham, TN. James enlisted in Captain D. S. Hagler's Co. and served with Colonel M. T. Johnson's 14th Texas Cavalry , CSA. He served as a farrier-blacksmith and when that unit was dismounted, he enlisted in the lst Reft. 21st Brigade, Texas State Troops. The last two units were stationed in Montague Co. for frontier protection from Indians renegades. As was the case with all Confederate soldiers, James lost the rights of citizenship until pardoned by congressional action. On October 18, 1865, he took the Oath of Amnesty and was placed on the register of the county once more as a voter . It is said that he was the first to pay a poll tax in Montague Co . James has a Civil War headstone inscribed, "Co. I, 14 Tex Cav. CSA"

James was married three times l. to Disa A Dillen 27 Jun 1847 2. to Elizabeth A Lankford ca 1854, 3. to Nancy Elizabeth Furr on 5 Nov 1872

After the death of his first wife, Dicey in 1853, he married a second time to Elizabeth A. Lankford who was born in 1833 and died Dec. 1862.
James sold his farm and moved his family to Montague Co. TX where he lived the remainder of his life. James married for a third time on Nov 5, 1872 to Nancy Elizabeth Furr Glass, a widow who was born Jan 3 1842, and died Apr 13, 1930.
