Co., North Carolina, and died June 09, 1906 in Wellington, Texas.

Ralph enlisted in the Confederate Army 1 July 1863 at Denmark,

I believe this is the right Nancy who married James M. Johnson,
she is a cousin and daughter of John Gibbons Chisum, son of James
Stewart Chisum and Elizabeth Gibbons.

Sarah married lst Benjamin Turner; m. 2nd Dr. Henry Graham
McDonald of Paris, TX . Benjamin Turner was the father of Eva
Turner Clark, who wrote a very complete and comprehensive book
entitled "Francis Eppes I, His Ancestors and Descendants,
"which was the beginning of the Eppes genealogical
collection. The book was published in 1929 and is now out of
print and Eva Turner Clark has passed away.
After Benjamin Turner's death, Sarah married Dr. Henry G.
McDonald , a very distinguished gentleman. They had three sons.
The first son William McDonald never married and was a peculiar
man with a passion for accumulating money.
After his death, it was discovered it had all been willed to the
University of Texas to build the most powerful telescope then
known... " It was constructed in the Davis Mountains in West
Texas.
Henry G. McDonald was a prominent lawyer and had two daughters.
James McDonald was a banker and had one son."
According to "John Simpson Chisum and his Kin" Sarah
came to Texas in 1836 with her Uncle Claiborne. The settled in
Lamar Co. and she later married. Copy of wedding license is in
file.

for DR. HENRY GRAHAM MCDONALD:
Henry was the second husband of Sarah Johnson. Henry is buried in
family cemetery about nine miles south of Paris, TX: m. 2nd
Isabella Roberts. Henry is also shown to have the middle name of
"Dearborn".
Dr. McDonald was of Scot Descent and came west as a government
physician to the Choctaw Indians when they moved from Mississippi
to Indian Territory in 1831. He came to Lamar Co. and settled
near Howland in 1837, about a year after Claiborne and Sarah came
west.
McDonald's son did not get along well with their stepmother and
went to live with their Aunt Nancy Chisum Wright. Alex Wright is
said to have taken a great interest in the boys. He became their
guardian after McDonald's death.
